CONTROVERSY STALKS COMPETING 2010 AFRICAN WORLD CUP PARTIES
Influential blogs have been reporting a 2010 African World Cup "Party" hosted by solar pioneer Bruce Falck. Since as far back as June 20th, 2006 it has been widely known in circles of at least 6-7 that Jesse Stagg originally posited the Cape Town based 2010 AWCP event in an effort to provide a guaranteed "reunion opportunity platform on a cool-ass far-away continent filled with danger, opportunity and danger". Furthermore, the date certain of JUNE 15 has been widely promoted to more than 8 people, even at this early stage. Unfortunately this date sucks because it's a Tuesday, however Tuesday night in Cape Town is closer to a Thursday night in Hollywood, so it might be ok.
Many in the know, suspect the 2010 AFRICAN WORLD CUP REUNION PLATFORM PARTY is just a thinly veiled attempt by Stagg to invite many many people that nobody knows, least of all Stagg, to yet another party. Others see it as a craven attempt to meet girls, because, as many would agree "meet me in Africa in four years" is a solid strategy for getting into the pants of any hollywood based M/A/W. Some suggest the point may be moot by then as Stagg really should be hitched by then, he isn't getting any younger.
Whatever the motivation, there is no denying that significant friendships and hookups have occurred as a result of Stagg's past efforts - unfortunately, just not for Stagg or Falck.
Falck and Stagg are no strangers to each other, having collaborated on many successful "braai-based" events together in the past. Most recently, Falck's lifesapping but satisfying, monthlong, "core-crew" farewell tour of the better backyards, bars and bistros of LA's Northside district.
Highly placed sources verify that the two camps are discussing the possibility of coming together to negotiate a timetable to schedule preliminary meetings on possible low-level talks about a truce and the possible merger of the two events. An even higher placed anonymous source, so highly placed he actually lives on a mountain, said "It's merely a cosmic disconnect, based on time and space differentials and the fact Stagg hasn't eaten solid food in going on 6 days becauase of some kooky lemon cleanse trip" When asked to comment Stagg said only "when life gives you lemons -- don't eat for 12 days".
Bruce Falck was unable to be reached for comment, but it has been confirmed that Falck is out of the country on sabbatical prior to embarking on a new opportunity with some technology company up the coast.
Whatever the outcome, the two camps were able to agree on a brief statement of guidance and issued the following reccomendations:
• Don't ask where the Tigers are
• Don't get randomly murdered while admiring the scenery
• Don't bring any Cocaine, because there is plenty in Africa already
• Don't mention anyone's mother or terrorism at any time for any reason
• Do buy tickets in 2008 to guarantee seats at the cool stadiums
