Okay, this is my new favorite thing: A car rental company offering brand new biodiesel VWs for $49 a day or $200 a week.
Choose from turbo diesel Passats, Jettas, Golfs, and Beetles, which have been converted to use 100% biofuel—gives 30-45 mpg, very clean-burning, costs less per gallon than gas, and is more widely available around LA than you might think.
A great alternative for visiting friends and family members.
Also a perfect way to test out the biodiesel option for anyone who's considering it—and there are so many good reasons to do so! (Like if I see one more SUV sporting a War Is Not The Answer bumper sticker, I may go mad. And you wouldn't want that).
